“It’s about more than how things look, it’s about what they convey.”
Niño is basically a kid at heart. He’s always playing with colors, shapes, drawings, ideas and telling jokes that take you back to your school days.
As a child he discovered that drawing provided a portal to another planet. You couldn’t find him in the playground during recess, instead he stayed indoors doodling on a pad. Something that was shaped further when he discovered hip hop and urban art. And that he learnt he could make a living out of art, after attending the “Art + Ad” course many years later at the “School of Visual Art of New York.”
He was told to become a structural engineer, and thankfully for us a module in “drawing and reading plans” was the straw that broke the camel’s back and convinced him to drop out and switch to advertising.
Besides the founders, Francisco is one of Simplicity’s oldest team members. And since his first day he has repeatedly surprised and educated all of us. Teaching that behind every logo, every graphic asset, every post and pitch deck there’s a story to tell with color, shapes, figures and his incredible taste. Except for his awful jokes, of course.
